Tess Altiveros has been featured as a soloist both locally and internationally, including tours to Europe and Southeast Asia, and is a regular singer for the Seattle Mariners. Lauded for her operatic roles, she most recently appeared as Mimi in La Boheme and Elle in La voix humaine (Vespertine Opera Theater), Musetta in La Boheme (Tacoma Opera), Adele in Die Fledermaus (Bremerton Symphony) and Ilia in Idomeneo (Puget Sound Concert Opera). Other credits include Mimi (Bellevue Opera), the title role of Luisa Miller (Puget Sound Opera), Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro (Tacoma Opera), Frasquita in Carmen (Vashon Opera), Tatiana in Eugene Onegin, and Don Ramiro in La finta giardiniera. Equally at home on the concert stage, she has been featured throughout the region in such pieces as Faure's Requiem, Schubert's Der Hilt auf dem Felsen, Haydn's Creation, Mozart's Requiem and Exultate, jubilate motets, and Vaughan Williams's Dona Nobis Pacem, among many others. Upcoming engagements include the Washington Idaho Symphony's semi-staged Cosi fan tutte, the Bremerton Symphony (Mozart Requiem), the Anna's Bay Center for Music (Messiah), as well as a return to Vespertine Opera Theater in the title role of Poulenc's Les mamelles de Tiresias, and the Seattle Opera Guild previews for Poulenc's La voix humaine. Miss Altiveros is an alumna of the Tacoma Opera Young Artist Program, in which she sang Laurette in Bizet's Dr. Miracle and the title role in Von Suppe's My Fair Galatea. She holds a Master's degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Washington, where she studied with acclaimed soprano, Jane Eaglen. She currently serves as an Affiliate Artistic Faculty member at Western Washington University, and is a board member of The Box is Empty.
